Diplomat torte
Lakes Cakes offers an eclectic variety of tortes and
pies.
  Below are our dessert offerings including a
brief description.  
 
Chocolate Truffle:  Rich, chocolate mousse, resting on a thin layer of chocolate cake.  Ganache is poured over
all,  to give a smooth finish.  Chocolate shavings are a fitting garnish.  This is a chocolate lover's dream cake.

Tiramisu:  Our rendition of this classic includes fresh expresso, top shelf Rum,  and sweet Marsala infused with
a melt in your mouth filling.  Homemade tender savoiardi (lady fingers) encase the sides of the cake.

Strawberry Royale:  A generous amount of fresh strawberries and pastry cream are "sandwiched" between two
layers of yellow cake, glazed and garnished with,  of course, fresh strawberries!

Carrot Cake:  We are told this cake out tastes all recipes of it's kind.  What more can we say?  Laden with
raisins and walnuts, this torte is iced in a not-so-sweet cream cheese icing and traditionally garnished with a
marzipan carrot.

Lemon Berry Cloud:   A light lemon curd is the base filling with a light, yellow chiffon cake.  At least 5
different types of seasonal fruit serves to garnish the filling as well as the impressive top of this torte.

German Chocolate:  Housemade german chocolate filling and a thin layer of 'melt in your mouth' ganache is
sandwiched between layers of chocolate chiffon cake.  Walnuts and pecans garnish the sides of cake with more
german chocolate filling and chocolate curls on top.

Alpine:  White chocolate mousse with chocolate chiffon cake.  The torte is iced in buttercream and covered
with white chocolate shavings.

Lemon Chiffon:  Lemon curd lightened with whipped egg whites,  poured into a puff pastry crust, and
garnished with fresh fruit.

Red Velvet:  Our recipe for this classic torte is a customer favorite.  It also makes a stunning wedding cake
when sliced.
